Latvian Citizenship by Descent
Descendants of pre-war Latvian citizens may restore their citizenship. We assist with archive research, document preparation and filing the application with PMLP.
Latvian law provides the right to citizenship for descendants of persons who were Latvian citizens before 17 June 1940. If your grandparents or earlier ancestors held Latvian citizenship, you may be entitled to obtain it as well.
The key step is documentary proof of your ancestor's citizenship and your kinship with them. This is where archive research helps: we request historical data from Latvian state archives and, if necessary, from archives in other countries.
