Descendants of Latvian Citizens as of 17.06.1940
If your ancestor was a Latvian citizen as of 17 June 1940, you may be entitled to Latvian citizenship. We help establish the right, gather documents and complete the procedure.
The Latvian Citizenship Law grants the right to register citizenship to descendants of persons who were Latvian citizens before the Soviet occupation — that is, as of 17 June 1940. This right is not limited by number of generations.
The key condition is documentary proof of the ancestor's citizenship status and an unbroken chain of kinship. We specialise in such cases: we know what documents are required, where to obtain them, and how to build the evidence base correctly.
